Dell Children’s Medical Center to Benefit from Additional Gift
Michael Dell announced that he will donate $50M to the University of Texas at Austin so the school can advance the health of children through various programs. Part of the funds will help the university establish the Dell Pediatric
Institute next to Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas,
which is being built at the old Robert Mueller Municipal Airport.
The redevelopment site of the old airport is in North/Central East Austin, a revitalized and booming part of the city. Investors took notice a few years ago when the children’s hospital was announced. Many homes in the area were previously under-valued, but they have been gaining quickly. Land is very hard to find, so many older homes in the area are being rehabbed. The area will continue to grow and is a great investment for investors or home owners.
